Here is my Remote controlled Arduino based front end loader. I had this project bouncing around for a while and finally finished it in time for the Sydney Makerfaire 2014.
It'sa fairly complex project so I'm not going to go into details, suffice to say if you don't know how to hack a servo into a motor or use a playstation controller with your arduino this project isn't for you!
All the chassis and mechanicals were laser cut from ~2.6mm bamboo veneer ply. I use a cheap aftermarket wireless PS2 controller and an arduino for the remote control. Motion comes from 4 constant rotation servos.
The linkages were hell to get working as I wanted both motors on the chases. The bucket is controlled by 2 regular sevos, They are slightly bigger than 9g but had plenbty of torque.
